Mazelov has a preserved historic settlement layout and preserved historic architecture. The village also features a unified ensemble of brick vernacular architecture from the 18th and 19th centuries, with elements of South Bohemian peasant Baroque.

Building Culture and Village Character

Mazelov is a village heritage reserve with preserved ensembles of vernacular architecture. The historic buildings consist predominantly of three-sided farmsteads arranged with two gables, whose segmental-arched vaulted gateways and large barns at the rear form characteristic architectural details.

Landscape and Water

Part of the Mazelov area lies within the Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area. The Krčín pond is located in the cadastral area of Mazelov and is suitable for fishing near Mazelov. A local road from Mazelov to Záblatí runs over the pond’s dam. Krčín was created in 1582–1583 by Krčín.

Route B of the Na Blata u Mazelova educational trail runs through Mazelov and is a 58.74-kilometre moderate-difficulty cycling, hiking and educational route; from Mazelov, it continues along a quiet asphalt road towards Lomnice nad Lužnicí.
