Culture and History
The spa complex with its school, villas and church forms a valuable ensemble in Libníč; adjoining it is a wooded valley with remnants of landscaped park grounds.
At the end of the 18th century, more than 100 guests per year were treated at the spas in Libníč. A flood submerged the mines near Libníč in 1593. Five years after the 1593 flood, mining activity near Libníč came to a complete end.
The Vila Gabriela ensemble in Jelmo comprises Villa No. 12, Building No. 24, an orangery, a greenhouse and a garden. The original is located in the lapidarium of Borovany Monastery. The statue standing in Libníč today is a copy created by the academic sculptor Ivan Tlášek.
