Libín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The 12-kilometre-long Cesta kolem Světa educational trail forms a closed loop around Svět Pond. It passes through three municipalities, including Libín with the district of Spolí, and is intended for hikers.

Hiking

On 16 information panels, the educational trail provides basic information about the ecology of the Třeboňsko region, typical plant and animal species, the history of fish farming and spa operations, as well as the development of folk architecture.

Cycling

The municipality of Libín lies on the route between České Budějovice and Třeboň. Cycle paths run through the villages of the municipality. A regional cycle route follows cycle route CT 1096 from Spolí through Libín and Vlkovice to Zvíkov. Along a cycle route passing through Libín, the local pub offers seating and refreshments.

Culture

The first written mention of Libín dates back to 1366. The Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus stands in the village square; the chapel by the pond in Libín is listed as an immovable cultural monument.

Spolský rybník was created in 1574 by Jakub Krčín z Jelčan. In the surroundings of Libín, upper and lower farm buildings illustrate the layout of farmsteads in the Třeboňsko region. In this area, the rural Baroque architecture of Veselské Blato meets the Upper Austrian enclosed four-sided farmyard.

Nature

Spolí lies below the dam of Spolský rybník. Beyond the border of Spolí begins the Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area, an important recreational area. The V Rájích Nature Reserve is located near Libín, where sundews and other rare plants can be found.

Kingfishers and otters occur in the surroundings of Libín; the noble crayfish lives in the Spolský potok.
