Culture and History

Obrovy hroby is an important archaeological site in Kučeř. It is located 170 metres north-northwest of the intersection of the Kučeř–Sobědraž and Jichovice–Velká roads and is a square fortified site of the Viereckschanze type with an earth rampart and a ditch.

A stone cross in Kučeř dates from 1761 and is considered a valuable example of smaller-scale folk architecture.

Nature and Trails

Kučeřský jalovec is a protected individual memorial tree, first designated on 18 April 2000.

A cycle path runs through Kučeř. Cycle Route No. 31 Měděnec–Plzeň–Tábor runs through Varvažov, Zvíkovské Podhradí, Kučeř, Květov, Branice, Veselíčko, Bernartice, Stádlec and the Stádlec Bridge.

Route 1155 Orlík nad Vltavou–Kučeř connects Cycle Route No. 31 with Cycle Route No. 1154 and runs near two natural monuments and a Celtic hillfort. A yellow-marked hiking trail also runs through Kučeř.

Water and Surroundings

The local ponds in Kučeř are used for swimming. The Orlík Reservoir is part of the nearby recreational area around Kučeř. The wooded surroundings of Kučeř offer opportunities for peaceful relaxation and excursions.
