Hatín: Apartments and Holiday Homes

The landscape around Hatín is characterized by bodies of water, meadows, and forests, providing a habitat for a great diversity of animals. In the Jemčina Forests, Holná covers 244 hectares and is considered one of the oldest artificial waterworks in Bohemia.

History and Culture

In 1702, Prokop Vojtěch decided to establish a game preserve near Jemčina and build a hunting lodge there for summer stays and the hunting season. Jemčina Hunting Lodge is registered as a protected cultural monument.

The Chapel of St. Wenceslas in Stajka was restored in 2025 as part of a project focused on small-scale sacred architecture. The exterior and interior plasterwork, damaged benches, and the altar were repaired or restored.

Water and Landscape

At the Jemčina weir on the Nežárka, boats can easily be portaged along both banks. Downstream from the Jemčina weir, the Nežárka flows between higher, partially regulated banks; broad meadows lie along the river, with extensive forest areas farther away.

Cycling

The signposted cycling route “In the Footsteps of Ema Destinová” passes through Jemčina and Hatín. It is 41 km long, takes 3 to 4 hours, and is classified as easy.

In the former Jemčinská Game Preserve, directional signs for cyclists and pedestrians have been supplemented with tourist destinations.

Křížky Hill [Polště] is located in the immediate vicinity of Hatín. Homolka Mountain is located in the vicinity of Hatín, as is Hůrka Mountain. Cihadlo Mountain is located in the wider regional surroundings of Hatín.
