Zirnau: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the central area of Dříteň there is a Baroque château with an adjoining agricultural area and public square.

Geographical Setting

Dříteň lies on the edge of the Hlubocká (Zbudovská) Basin, in a landscape with ponds and historic buildings. From the countryside around Dříteň, views extend as far as the Blanský les and the Bohemian Forest.

Nature

Radomilická mokřina has been a European Site of Community Importance under Government Regulation No. 132/2005 Coll., with the site code CZ0313116. Under Regulation No. 30/2011 of the Council of the South Bohemian Region, the area was designated a nature reserve.

Within the municipality of Dříteň, areas in the cadastral territory of Záblatí belong to the European Site of Community Importance Radomilická mokřina.

Culture

The Church of Saint Dismas was built in 1691 by the Schwarzenberg architect Giacomo Antonio de Maggi. It is a Baroque octagonal central-plan building with a projecting western tower and a rectangular presbytery. The church is accessible during services.

The Dříteň forge is a plastered masonry building with a rectangular floor plan. It opens into the work area of the entrance hall through a classical semi-elliptical arch and is covered by a pitched roof clad with tiles. The former forge now houses the “Hospůdka na kovárně” restaurant.

The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk in Dříteň is a cultural monument dating from 1757 and originally stood at the château.

A public theatre performance of “Dracula” took place at Dříteň Château’s Cultural, Social and Educational Centre.
