The Lužnice River and its valley form approximately the western to northern boundary of Bečice.

Nature

The Lužnice Nature Monument also extends across the cadastral district of Bečice nad Lužnicí. It protects habitats of rare and endangered plant and animal species, including Unio crassus, Misgurnus fossilis and the Eurasian otter (Lutra lutra).

The Bečický Waterfall is more than two metres high. Access to it is relatively demanding, and the waterfall carries only a small amount of water.

Things to Do

A red-marked hiking trail runs along the right bank of the Lužnice near Bečice. No cycle path runs through Bečice.

Water

The Bejšovcův mlýn weir on the Lužnice is an attraction for water sports enthusiasts. A launch point for Dušan Jakubec boat rentals is located near Bečice. The whitewater section of the lower Lužnice runs from Tábor via Lužničanka near Bečice and Dobronice to Bechyně.

History

The ruins of Příběnice Castle are located near Bečice. The castle was built in the Lužnice valley in the 13th century and conquered by the Hussites in 1420.

The enclosure wall in front of house no. 11 in Bečice is protected as a cultural monument and was probably built at the end of the 19th century. Historically, it recalls the products of the then well-known Prince Paar brickworks in Zářečí near Bechyně.
