Zdemyslice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Zdemyslice, a historic masonry road bridge with four arches spans the Úslava. A memorial cross stands beside it; the bridge is listed as a cultural monument, is regarded as a valuable technical monument, and documents the construction and material traditions of historic bridge building.

Culture and History

In the vicinity of Zdemyslice lies the Eneolithic hilltop settlement of Chudinka on the boundary between the cadastral areas of Zdemyslice and Blovice, on the right bank of the Úslava. The building of Strýčkův Mill was raised by two storeys during the reconstruction of the entire mill in 1916.

The Church of St Nicholas stands in the centre of Zdemyslice next to a marked tourist route. It was first mentioned as a parish church in 1371.

Landscape and Hiking

Baba is a low rocky spur above a bend in the Úslava offering beautiful views. From Zdemyslice, Baba can be reached by crossing the railway line, walking along the river for approximately 300 metres from the footbridge over the Úslava, and then climbing the steep slope.

A yellow-marked hiking route from the village square in Zdemyslice leads to the Úslava and through the grounds of the former Zdemyslice Mill.

Active Pursuits

In the vicinity of Zdemyslice, the Vlčtejn climbing area offers about 40 climbing routes on a compact Buližník rock formation. From Zdemyslice railway stop, the blue-marked hiking trail leads uphill for approximately 1.5 km to Vlčtejn.

Zdemyslice’s hiking activities include a traditional New Year’s Eve walk. The educational trail “Blovickem pěšky i na kole” begins and ends in the square in Blovice, is 22 km long, and is also suitable for cyclists.
