Culture and history

The ruins of Vlčtejn Castle are a small, typical Gothic castle ruin dating from the time of Charles IV. The treaty known as the Treaty of Vlčtejn was concluded in Vlčtejn on 11 June. For more than 30 years, the natural grounds of Vlčtejn Castle have been used for various music and cultural events.

The palas of Vlčtejn Castle is closed due to its poor technical condition.

Rock and sports

The Buližník rock formation on which Vlčtejn Castle was built offers several climbing routes of varying difficulty. The Vlčtejn climbing area is a compact Buližník rock formation approximately 17 m high, with around 40 routes, most of which are located on a vertical wall.

The multisport field in Vlčtejn can be used by individuals or groups by arrangement with the facility manager or after making a reservation via the municipality's website.

Landscape and cycle paths

Pahorek Hill [Chlum u Blovic] and Dubí Hill [Blovice] are located in the vicinity of Vlčtejn. Radyně Mountain is located near Vlčtejn, while Nad Moráskem Mountain lies in the wider regional surroundings of Vlčtejn.

The “Blovickem pěšky i na kole” educational trail is a 22 km circular route with seven stops featuring information boards, focusing primarily on the protection of nature and the landscape.

Cycle Route 2143 runs from Vlčtejn via Chlum to Střížovice. The section of Cycle Route 2143 leading away from Vlčtejn follows a pleasant descent and offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.
