In November 1995, Ves Touškov was designated by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic as a heritage conservation zone of vernacular architecture. The village has an unusually large village square lined with a number of preserved, valuable traditional rural houses.
Culture and Village Character
The village square is also home to the prominent Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, a work of local significance. The monument stands next to the Church of Saint Margaret in the central part of Ves Touškov.
Church of Saint Margaret
The Church of Saint Margaret has Gothic origins and was extended in 1846 by lengthening the nave and adding a gallery and a tower. Its furnishings include a three-part Rococo organ from the early 19th century. During restoration, an original pointed-arch Gothic portal entrance was discovered in the wall of the nave.
