Pačejov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
A notable historical feature in Pačejov is the remains of a medieval fortress in the building complex of the former estate, locally known as “Zámeček”.
History
The Church of Our Lady of the Snows (“Kostel Panny Marie Sněžné”) was rebuilt into its present form in 1871 and is considered the most important monument in Pačejov. Its bell tower houses a peal of four bells that is unique in the wider surrounding area. Among the smaller religious monuments in the vicinity of Pačejov is the wayside cross near Velešice. The wayside cross in Strážovice dates from the 17th century; there is also a Baroque hexagonal chapel with a bell tower there.
A local association has restored monuments in the Pačejov and Velešice area. The local tradition of “posezení pod májkou” is also being continued and includes an afternoon cultural programme.
Transport Links and Events
Pačejov has rail and bus connections. Rally Pačejov is a recurring motorsport event; its special stages run in the area around Horažďovice, Čečelovice, Třebohostice and Pačejov. In winter, the area around Pačejov offers terrain for cross-country skiing.
Landscape
Mount Slavník offers views of the Šumava foothills and the landscape below Slavník.
