Dražovice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

On the village square in Dražovice, the Chapel of Saint Wenceslas stands in a visually prominent location. It dates from 1760. This village setting is complemented by traces of various fortifications and a landscape with broad, verdant meadows and floodplains.

Culture

A Gothic fortress stood in Dražovice by 1356 at the latest. On the site of the old fortress, a central hill approximately 25 m wide as well as two systems of ramparts and ditches have been preserved. A new Renaissance fortress was built in the 1530s or 1540s on the grounds of a manor farm. This new fortress is privately owned and used as a residential building.

Nature

The Nezdický stream crosses the Dražovice area through a predominantly broad, verdant meadow floodplain. It is a right-bank tributary of the Otava. The Sedlo mountain [Sušice-Albrechtice] and Vysoký mountain are located in the vicinity of Dražovice. The Svatobor and Popelná hora mountains are also located in the surrounding area.

Things to do

The 32 km-long “Okolo Sušice” cycle route passes through Dražovice; the village is listed as a named stop along the route. In the wider regional surroundings of Dražovice lies the Radomysl Mediumwave Radio Mast as a ruin.

Events

The lantern procession in Dražovice was scheduled for 17 November 2024 and 17 November 2025, with the meeting point at the chapel on both occasions. For 2024, another Masopust procession was planned in Dražovice, which was to pass through the village as it had the previous year.
