Nečtiny: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Zámek Nečtiny is a Neo-Gothic complex opposite Preitenstein Castle. The château has a U-shaped layout and wings of varying lengths enclosing a courtyard of honour.

Culture and History

The Regionální muzeum Nečtiny includes the Četnická stanice exhibition about the former gendarmerie station in Nečtiny, which was one of the twelve gendarmerie stations in the Kralovice political district. The Lesnictví a dřevařství exhibition focuses on the importance of forests as a livelihood and as a source of raw materials for glassworks and other businesses. Národopis Nečtinska is housed in a log cabin room and conveys part of the history of the Nečtiny region.

Preitenštein Castle (Breitenstein) was built as a large castle on a hill before 1333. The outer walls of the castle and palace, as well as a passage leading into the cellars, have survived among the ruins of Preitenstein Castle. The ruins of Preitenstein Castle are designated as an important archaeological site.

The Church of St. Anne was built from 1450 to 1462, destroyed during the Thirty Years' War, and rebuilt by Václav Adam Kokořovec from 1655 to 1657. Its single-nave interior has a flat ceiling, a semicircular triumphal arch, a spacious chancel, and a sacristy with a burial site.

Landscape and Trails

The Mlýnská Trail connects Nečtiny with Manětín and passes through beautiful countryside along the Starý potok. Its central theme is mills and the power of water.

Below Preitenštein Castle in Nečtiny are basalt columns that may be among the longest in Bohemia. The mountains of Vladař, Třebouň, and Homolka lie in the vicinity of Nečtiny.

The Novy Dvur Monastery lies in the wider regional surroundings of Nečtiny. The ruins of Zřícenina Lina and Sténský vrch mountain are also located there; the Svatý Prokop monument and Plzen Barholomaeus Cathedral are located there as well.
