The historic centre of Losiná consists of a long, spacious, street-like village square with a stream running through the middle. Several traditional farmsteads have been preserved on the village square; their entrance gates – both vaulted gates and newer pillar gates – are very well preserved. On the road to Nebílovy stands a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk on an Ionic column; the year 1740 is inscribed on its pedestal.

Culture and Architecture

The Chapel of St. Anne is a small Neoclassical building with a square floor plan. It was built in the second half of the 19th century and has been protected as a cultural monument since 6 October 2006. Its pyramidal roof is crowned by a small bell tower. Architecturally, the chapel is particularly valuable for its geometric design and balanced proportions as a strictly centrally symmetrical building.

History

Losiná probably has an older, early feudal origin. The transfer of Losiná took place in 1327 under Jaroslav ze Štěnovic. On 11 October 1620, during the Thirty Years’ War, the village of Losiná was raided by Hungarian cavalry serving the Bohemian estates. The Antonínská silver mine in the vicinity of Losiná was in operation for about fifty years from the end of the 17th century.
