Štěnovický Borek: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Štěnovický Borek consists of two almost interconnected villages laid out as roadside villages, with a preserved ensemble of original folk architecture.

Landscape and village character

Štěnovický Borek is situated in a gently hilly, agriculturally influenced landscape with a high proportion of forests and water areas. The municipality’s cultural landscape is characterised by a succession of forests, large arable fields, grassland and smaller groups of water areas.

There is a significant deposit of high-quality granite between Nebílovský Borek and Planiny.

Culture and history

A large Baroque granary has been preserved as a prominent remnant of the former farmyard. House No. 16 is one of the well-preserved Neoclassical farmsteads with a gateway opening onto the road towards Tymákov.

The Chapel of Saint Adalbert is a Grade II state cultural monument. The Baroque, octagonal Chapel of Saint Adalbert at Planiny was built in 1685.

The remains of an abandoned medieval settlement, a farmyard and a fortified manor have been preserved at the Džbánek archaeological site.

Events and discoveries

An annual pilgrimage takes place at the Chapel of Saint Adalbert on the second Sunday after the feast of Saint Adalbert.

The “Fairy-tale Forest” route passes stations featuring fairy-tale characters and various tasks. The children’s “Fairy-tale Forest” event begins at the sports ground in Štěnovický Borek.

Refreshments are available at the event at Planiny, including draught beer, lemonade and smoked sausages.
