Lesná: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Lesná educational trail begins right in Lesná. The one-way circular trail is approximately 11.3 km long, has 10 stations and is suitable for pedestrians and cyclists. Its themes include the area’s former settlement, natural features and forest management.

Things to do

The Podkovák educational trail can be reached via a turn-off from the forest road on the Lesná–Stará Knížecí Huť road. The car is parked approximately 500 m from Lesná, after which you follow the green hiking trail. At the end of the educational trail, there is a covered shelter with a view of the peatland lakes. The Podkovák educational trail has been completely renovated; the boardwalk, benches and bicycle racks were replaced as part of the renovation.

Behind Lesná in the direction of Stará Knížecí Huť, the Vodní svět educational trail begins. It is approximately 2 km long. Its main attraction is a beaver observation point with a direct view of a beaver lodge. A footbridge at another pond also allows visitors to observe aquatic invertebrates and amphibians.

The Glassmaking educational trail begins in Stará Knížecí Huť. The circular trail is approximately 6.3 km long and has 13 stations. It presents the history of glassmaking, settlement and the nature of the Český les around Stará Knížecí Huť and Huťský rybník.

Nature

The Podkovák Nature Reserve is located in the cadastral area of Lesná and protects a small raised bog with stands of bog pine over an area of 5.6 hectares. The entire municipality of Lesná belongs to the Český les Nature Park.

Culture

The Church of St Nicholas in Lesná contains an iconostasis that was transferred from an Orthodox chapel in Prague-Dejvice. Havran is 894 m high and was formerly a site for radio-technical intelligence operated by the Intelligence Administration of the Czechoslovak People’s Army during the Cold War.

Geographical location

The cross-border Přední Zahájí–Waldheim hiking trail makes it possible to visit Germany from the area around Lesná. The same applies to the cross-border Křížový Kámen–Kreuzstein hiking trail.
