Drahoňův Újezd: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture and history

The parish church of St James the Elder in Drahoňův Újezd is registered as an immovable cultural monument. The local church is mentioned as a parish church as early as 1350 and preserves a Gothic presbytery from its predecessor building, while the nave and tower date from 1764.

The abandoned settlement of Rovný is one of the best-preserved settlement complexes from the Late Middle Ages and the early modern period. It consisted of eight farmsteads; the medieval and early modern parts of Rovný are still clearly recognisable in the terrain.

The local monuments include the agricultural farm complexes No. 3, with a residential house and barn, and No. 6, with a residential house, granary and stables. Rudův mlýn has origins dating back to the beginning of the 17th century.

Landscape and nature

Drahoňův Újezd lies on the southwestern edge of the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area, a UNESCO biosphere reserve, and on the northeastern edge of Radeč Nature Park.

The forests around Drahoňův Újezd consist of mixed stands with an age structure of approximately 80 to 100 years. The Jalovce na Světovině Nature Monument protects common juniper (Juniperus communis subsp. communis) on former pastureland.

Paths and notable places

Frequently used hiking, cycling and horse-riding routes pass through Drahoňův Újezd and its surroundings. The Křtitelna memorial spring lies in the valley opposite Matčina hora and is adorned with a Gothic cross.

In connection with Drahoňův Újezd, a green-marked tourist route from Zbiroh to the bank of the Berounka near Hřešihlav is mentioned. Road II/235 from Kařez to Zvíkovec also passes through Drahoňův Újezd.
