Zájezdec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The medieval and modern-era center of Zájezdec is an area where archaeological finds have been documented or where their occurrence is reasonably suspected. These traces are combined in the local landscape with a central chapel, a Jewish cemetery, and distinctive landscapes around ponds, hills, and stream floodplains.

Culture and Local Landscape

In the center of Zájezdec, the restored statue of Saint John of Nepomuk was installed near the chapel in 2009. The central chapel itself dates from 1892.

The Zájezdec Jewish cemetery is located in the northern part of the village between the pond and the road to Přestavlky. At the same time, it lies on the western slope above the floodplain of the Ležák stream and above an elongated pond.

The Jewish cemetery was allegedly established in the second half of the 18th century. The site contains approximately 115 gravestones dating from 1789 to 1919.

The Church of Svatý Jiří is located in the wider regional surroundings of Zájezdec.

Landscape

In the immediate surroundings of Zájezdec are the hill Na Homoli [Rosice u Chrasti], the hill (Panské) [Zaječice u Chrudimi], and the hill (Turyň) [Kočí].

Mount Bučina is located in the wider regional surroundings of Zájezdec. To the north of the village there is also the larger Malá voda pond.

Leisure

An enclosed children's playground was established in the southern part of Zájezdec between 2003 and spring 2005. Its equipment includes a seesaw, a slide with swings, a rope climbing frame, three benches, and a sandbox.
