Újezdec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The traditional Czech village green of Újezdec is defined by a pond and bordered by the façades of the farmsteads facing towards the centre of the village. This village structure is complemented by remarkable details such as the restored Chapel of the Holy Trinity, which dates from around 1755. A faithful replica of its original Neoclassical door is particularly striking.

Culture and History

The history of Újezdec includes the settlement of U Tří Kocourů, which once stood at a fork in the Trstenická zemská stezka. Three cat heads are mounted on one of the houses there, recalling the settlement’s former cat-shaped barrier posts.

The Růžový Palouček near Újezdec is also steeped in history. A monument to the Bohemian Brethren was unveiled at Růžový Palouček in 1921; since 1989, the site has been a cultural monument.

The marl layers around Újezdec contain abundant shell fossils. This geological feature complements the village character and the site’s cultural and historical evidence.

Horse breeding in Újezdec is combined with the opportunity to take riding lessons and go on horseback rides. During the summer months, Jezdecký oddíl Černík organises residential riding camps for children and also offers family holidays with the opportunity to take riding lessons during this period.
