Křenov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Křenovské hradisko is an early medieval fortified settlement on a flat hilltop; its fortifications enclose an area of approximately 20 hectares.

Culture

The Chapel of Saint Isidore was built in 1707 on the initiative of the local parish priest and patron Johann Benedikt Schindler. Its interior is richly decorated and features stucco decoration with acanthus motifs as well as figurative wall paintings. Restoration of the sculptural and painted furnishings was completed in 2015.

A parish church dating from 1729 has been preserved in Křenov. Together with the parish church, the Křenov parish house forms a significant urban ensemble. The Baroque parish house is an architecturally valuable two-storey rural building with a mansard roof, built around the village green. Next to the parish house stands a statue of the Immaculata dating from before 1734.

The Fara Křenov Museum introduces visitors to the life, culture and work of a clergyman in a small town from the 18th century to the present day. The Baroque furnishings of the site also include a sculptural group of the Virgin Mary, Saint John the Baptist and Saint John of Nepomuk. It was created in 1727 and entered on the list of cultural monuments in 1964.

The Baroque Church of Saint John the Baptist is a defining landmark of Křenov and features Baroque furnishings dating from 1730. A stone pillory dating from 1732 has also been preserved in the centre of Křenov.
