Klešice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The first written mention of Klešice dates back to 5 November 1257. The village’s history also includes several distinctive buildings and roadside monuments found in the village and along the roads in the surrounding area.

History and Village Landmarks

In the former manor farm of Klešice, the former granary is known as a “špejchar”. At the turnoff to the village stands a masonry Boží muka in the form of a pillar topped with a double cross above a tiled roof. A masonry bell tower stands on the village square in front of the municipal office. The Boží muka in Klešice were part of a project to repair and clean monuments and buildings.

On the road from Heřmanův Městec to Jezbořice stands a house with an imitation timber frame. Another statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands at the railing of the bridge over the stream.

Landscape

The countryside around Klešice is flat to gently hilly and characterized by meadows and fields. Large areas of the Klešice landscape are occupied by nurseries growing ornamental trees and shrubs.

Roads and Cycling

A network of local roads runs through Klešice and Náklí towards Heřmanův Městec, Pardubice and Přelouč. Several bus routes connect Klešice with surrounding settlements and towns. Cycle Route 4182 passes through Klešice on its section between Jetonice and Jezbořice.
