Horní Heřmanice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The church complex in Horní Heřmanice, including the cemetery gate and chapel, is protected as a cultural monument. The Church of St. George is a protected single-nave Baroque monument dating from 1708 to 1712, built by the Italian architect Antonio Sala. Inside is a baptismal font from 1749 featuring a carving of the Baptism of Christ in the Jordan; the main altar bears a replica of the pilgrimage image Chrudimský Salvátor.

Culture

The ossuary in Horní Heřmanice, registered as an immovable cultural monument, is also part of the area’s sacred heritage. Near the church and rectory stands a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1767. The late Baroque crucifix in the sacred area of Horní Heřmanice dates from 1788.

Regional folk architecture is also present in the village landscape. The old wooden water mill No. 103 was built in 1748 by Ferdinand Dittrich, the brother of Heřmanice’s first priest, and is an important example of folk architecture in the Lanškroun area. Horní Heřmanice is home to well-maintained wooden chalets that bear witness to local folk architecture. House No. 85 is a replica of an example of the foothill log-house architecture of the Lanškroun area, originally dating from 1792, with a decorated gable; after being damaged in 2006, it was reconstructed as a replica of the original building.

The traditional dahlia exhibition organized by local gardeners takes place at the Horní Heřmanice Cultural Centre and is scheduled for 5 and 6 September 2026 from 2 p.m.
