Damníkov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The history of Damníkov includes the Church of Saint John the Baptist. Built in 1898, the Neo-Gothic building preserves a Late Gothic portal dating from around 1500 and ornamented tombstones from the 16th century; next to the church stands a Baroque rectory dating from 1754.

Nature and Landscape

Damníkov lies at the foot of the wooded Hřebečovský ridge in the Třebovský mezihoří, below the Třebovský saddle. The Lukovský stream flows through the village and empties into the Moravská Sázava.

The forests surrounding Damníkov provide recreation for locals and visitors and are suitable for picking mushrooms and bilberries.

Routes and Activities

Road 43 runs through Damníkov to Lanškroun, which is 6 km away, and continues to the recreational areas of the Orlické Mountains and the Polish Kłodzko region.

The Gloserovi riding club in Damníkov offers riding groups as well as riding and show-jumping training for children aged six and over. Marked local cycling routes also intersect in Damníkov.

History

Damníkov is home to a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1713. A Baroque statue of Saint Procopius from 1710 commemorates the former church.

The abandoned Rychtářský mlýn mill lies by the church; all that remains of it is the massive dam of a reservoir. The former mill originally belonged to the estate of the hereditary reeve. Until the 20th century, it was owned by the Zorn family, who usually leased it out.
