Hošťalovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hošťalovice is home to the Church of St. Gall, an early Gothic building that was probably constructed around 1300 and has been documented in writing since 1349; at that time, it was a parish church. Due to its high-quality architecture and Gothic wall paintings, it is considered a monument of significant art-historical value. During the renovation in 1903, the wall paintings were whitewashed.

History and Remembrance

The Hošťalovice war memorial for soldiers who fell in the First World War was erected in 1934 on the initiative of the Rozkvět educational association. Since 1975, it has also featured a memorial plaque commemorating Josef Huňáček from Březinka, who died in the Terezín concentration camp during the Second World War.

Local Life

Every year, Hošťalovice hosts the firefighting sport competition “O putovní pohár starosty obce Hošťalovice” in the fire attack discipline. The Hošťalovice sports complex is used in particular for sporting, social, cultural and educational purposes. The municipal refreshment establishment there operates a regularly open bar.

Residents and holiday cottage users from Hošťalovice and Březinka may fish in the Hošťalovice pond after joining the local fishing association.

Trails and Landscape

The Partyzánská stezka associated with Hošťalovice is a continuous circular trail with eight themed stations and follows marked KČT routes. Cycle route No. 4179 between Březinka and Licoměřice also passes through Hošťalovice.

A pond lies on the northwestern edge of Hošťalovice, from which the Hošťalovický potok stream flows.

Public Transport

Three public transport bus routes are listed for Hošťalovice: Chrudim–Ronov nad Doubravou, Hošťalovice–Přelouč and Podhořany–Prachovice. The last route runs only via Březinka.
