Bor u Skutče is a frequent starting point for trips to the Maštale Nature Reserve. The name Toulovcovy Maštale is based on a legend about the robber knight Toulovec, who hid there with his followers during troubled times.

Rare animal and plant species can be found in the Maštale Nature Reserve, including fire salamanders, ferns and mosses. Bor u Skutče is home to the Kolumbovo vejce rock formation, the Dudychova jeskyně cave and the Petrovna rock formation.

Numerous marked hiking trails and cycling routes run through the Maštale Nature Reserve. A green-marked hiking trail leads from Bor u Skutče through rock crevices to Toulovcovy Maštale; along this route, you will pass the Džberka spring. From Vranice, a red-marked hiking trail leads via a sunken lane past Dudychova jeskyně to Bor u Skutče.

The freely accessible educational trail “Suchou nohou mezi vodou” winds between small bodies of water; informative panels with interactive game elements stand on the banks of the ponds.

A natural swimming pool with refreshments is located on the outskirts of Bor u Skutče. An educational trail leads from the natural swimming pool on the outskirts to the rescue station and the Pasíčka Eco Centre. At the rescue station and the Pasíčka Eco Centre, visitors can see animals from the wild.
