Loucná Nad Desnou: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
In the centre of Loučná nad Desnou stands the Renaissance residence that Přemek ze Žerotína commissioned in 1608 on the site of a wooden hunting lodge.
Culture and history
The castle chapel was later expanded into a parish church dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius; it features Baroque frescoes by Ignác Raab. Near the castle, a mechanical flax spinning mill developed into one of the most significant linen enterprises in the Habsburg monarchy and was awarded a prize at the 1873 World Exhibition in Vienna.
Park and landscape
Přemek III ze Žerotína created the castle park towards the end of the 17th century as an ornamental flower garden beside an orchard at the castle. It includes the Neptun Pond and a grotto, over whose stone arches the water flows from the pond as a waterfall.
