Culture and history

The Jewish Cemetery in Loštice was established at its present location in 1554 and is freely accessible. It contains around 650 stone gravestones, including examples of Baroque and Late Baroque design.

The synagogue in Loštice has been preserved in its Neoclassical form, created during its redesign in 1805–1806. It houses a permanent museum exhibition on the history of Jewish communities in the region.

The parish church of St. Procopius has an early medieval core dating from the mid-13th century.

The Adolf Kašpar Memorial is located in the house where the illustrator Adolf Kašpar spent the summers with his family from 1911 to 1932. It displays works in a permanent exhibition about the artist’s oeuvre.

The listed chateau complex in Loštice comprises a park, two garden houses and a fountain with a statue of Diana.

Cuisine

The Muzeum Olomouckých tvarůžků traces the history of Czech cheese from its first historical mentions through to modern production. It also offers groups of ten people a tasting of Olomoucké tvarůžky in five flavours.

The Naučná stezka lišky Bystroušky educational trail starts in Loštice, is divided into several sections with varying levels of difficulty and includes play elements for children.

Several marked cycle routes run through Loštice. Regular bus services operate in Loštice and also connect to train services in Moravičany. Loštice is easily accessible by car and bicycle.

Parks and landscape

More than 100 species and forms of woody plants have been recorded in Žádlovice Park.

The listed park, together with the adjacent former game enclosure area in the Loštice district of Žádlovice, forms an almost 30-hectare natural and landscape-design complex with four smaller ponds.
