Litovel: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The “Historie a příroda Litovle a okolí” educational trail is an easy 3.5-kilometre hiking trail. All three circular routes of the educational trail begin and end within Litovel’s built-up urban area.

History in the Cityscape

The “Historická Litovel” circular route traces the city’s history since its foundation in the 13th century and leads to particularly noteworthy architectural landmarks in the historic centre. Litovel Town Hall is already mentioned in a surviving parchment document from 1287. It was later remodelled several times in the Late Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles.

Museums and Crafts

The Litovel Museum is housed in the original building of a shooting range dating from the 19th century. Its permanent exhibition “Litovelská řemesla 1. poloviny 20. století” presents local crafts from the first half of the 20th century. The exhibition is continuously expanded and modified with new and interesting objects.

The Accordion Museum houses around 330 accordions made by nearly 40 Czech and foreign manufacturers. Some of the instruments are more than 150 years old. Visitors can try out the sound of selected accordions or heligons for themselves.

Brewery and Haná

The tour of the Litovel Brewery provides an insight into the traditional production of Litovel beers, takes visitors through the brewhouse and cellars as well as the brewery museum, and ends with a beer tasting. For more than 130 years, the Litovel Brewery has grown together with the Haná region.

Landscape

The Nečíz is one of six branches of the Morava River that flow through Litovel. During the redesign of Přemysl-Otakar Square in Litovel in 2014, an 8.5-metre-long and 7-metre-wide stone bridge over the Nečíz, with its paving preserved, was uncovered. Its origins are probably believed to date to the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries.

The U hranic hill [Uničov-Dětřichov] is located in the immediate vicinity of Litovel, while Rampach Hill is located in the surrounding area of Litovel. The wider regional surroundings of Litovel include Hrad Brníčko Castle, Skalice Mountain, Skalka Mountain, the Pomník obětem 1. a 2. světové války monument, Kostel Panny Marie Sněžné Church and Kostel sv.Michala Church.
