Kokory: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Baroque chapel “Kaple sv. Františka Xaverského” in Kokory is dated to 1724; it was built by the Jesuits, although there are also indications that it is older. The chapel is listed among the immovable cultural monuments of the Přerov District and documents significant Jesuit building activity in Central Moravia.

Culture and history

The church “Kostel Nanebevzetí Panny Marie” also bears several historical traces. It has a covered staircase with 60 granite steps. The present-day church in Kokory is the second church built at this location.

The brewery in Kokory was built by the Jesuits in the second half of the 18th century. As a historic brewery, it is one of the town’s most distinctive buildings.

Kokory’s cultural surroundings also extend to several other ecclesiastical buildings. The church “Kostel sv. Michala” and the church “Kostel Panny Marie Sněžné” are located in the vicinity of Kokory. In the wider surrounding region are the memorial “Pomník obětem 1. světové války” and the monument “Socha sv. Jana Nepomuckého”.

Nature and trails

At the eastern edge of Kokory, the educational trail “Naučná stezka kokorskými lesy” begins behind the municipal pond and leads towards the valley of the Olešnice. The trail uses information boards to communicate its content. Near the holiday-home area east of Kokory, there are ponds where fishing is possible.

In the immediate vicinity of Kokory are the hill “Přední kopec”, the hill “Na Kokorských kopcích [Nelešovice]” and the hill “(U Kříže) [Lhotka u Přerova]”. Mount Růžový Kopec is located in the wider surrounding region of Kokory.

Kokory is easily accessible by bus.
