Jakubovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Jakubovice is a typical mountain village in the Štítecko region, which forms part of the Branenská vrchovina highlands. The village lies on a steeply sloping hillside; the elevations of the buildings there range from approximately 355 to 600 metres.

Culture and History

Jakubovice was first mentioned in writing in 1335. A church in Jakubovice is documented by 1350 at the latest. The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is an early Baroque parish church dating from 1697.

The church complex was added to the Czech list of cultural monuments in May 1958. Jakubovice is also listed in the 1995 decree of the Czech Ministry of Culture designating village monument zones.

The church complex and the church building are usually locked; public access is generally available only on special occasions or for the Sunday early Mass at 7:30 a.m.

A protected cottage, No. 66, stands along a road in the western part of the village. The single-storey, gable-facing building has a pitched roof with hipped ends above the gable.

Getting Around

A junction of hiking routes is located next to the church. Jakubovice is connected to Štíty, Olšany, Šumperk, Zábřeh and other neighbouring municipalities.

Local Tradition

The wine-tasting event “Košt vín o pouti” in Jakubovice celebrated its 40th edition.
