Horni Lipova: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The Šerák–Keprník National Nature Reserve extends into the area of Horní Lipová. It stretches along the northern slopes of Šerák and Mračná hora and up to the summit of Obří skály, which forms an almost one-kilometre-long rock wall measuring 10 to 16 metres in height.
Nature and Landscape
Sněženky Horní Lipová is located in Horní Lipová, a 0.2271-hectare floodplain area that has been temporarily protected since 2007. Thousands of specimens of the endangered snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis) have been found there.
The mountains Smrk [Lipová-lázně], Šerák and Smrek are located in the immediate surroundings of Horní Lipová. Travná hora is located in the vicinity of Horní Lipová.
History and Culture
The Silesian Semmering Museum is located in the former signal box building of Horní Lipová railway station. It presents railway safety technology, signalling equipment, historical regulations and contemporary photographs.
The Pramen císaře Josefa II. in Horní Lipová commemorates Emperor Joseph II's visit on 1 September 1779; the spring dates from 1822. In the wider regional surroundings of Horní Lipová are the Edelštejn ruins, Trzebieszowice Castle, the Nový Hrad ruins and Otmuchów Castle - Zamek.
Experiences and Wildlife
The Naučná stezka Johanna Schrotha educational trail has ten stations. Lipová is also home to a private zoo that is open to visitors of all ages and interest groups. Parrots fly freely in the Faunapark; other animals living there include a tiger, lemurs, meerkats, macaques, iguanas, chameleons, kangaroos and ostriches.
