Cholina: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The church, pilgrimage tradition, and regional everyday culture give Cholina a distinct character. This is particularly evident in the Parish Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the pilgrimage tradition, and the Hanácké muzeum Cholina.
Culture
The Parish Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was probably built as early as the 13th century, rebuilt in the Gothic style at the beginning of the 14th century, and given its present Neo-Gothic appearance in the mid-19th century. The Gothic statue of Panna Marie Cholinská, dating from the early 15th century, contributed to Cholina being regarded as an important pilgrimage site in the first half of the 17th century. A chapel dating from 1693 stands at Svatá voda.
A modern Way of the Cross by the architect Bohumil Teplý is located along the boundary wall of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The Hanácké muzeum Cholina also preserves traces of the region: its collection began with props used by a local amateur theatre group in the 1950s. The museum displays traditional costumes and examples of household furnishings from past eras.
Village Character
Cholina's village character is considered typical of a Haná municipality. The linear village structure is arranged along broad streets or street squares; the buildings have their eaves facing the street.
