Bílsko is situated on the border between the fertile Haná region and the rolling foothills of the Nízký Jeseník. The village lies in the Ludmírovská pahorkatina, which is part of the Zábřežská vrchovina, amid forests, meadows and pastures. The Cholinka watercourse forms part of Bílsko’s northern cadastral boundary.

Landscape and geographical setting

Different landscapes therefore meet in Bílsko: the fertile Haná region, the rolling foothills of the Nízký Jeseník, and the wooded and open areas surrounding the village.

Cycling route

Cycling route 6025 runs through the cadastral area and the built-up part of Bílsko. East of the village square, it branches off the road onto a field track and continues through the Skalky locality. At a public area at the intersection of roads III/37315 and III/37313, there is a covered rest area with an information board for cyclists. From Luká, Bílsko can be reached by bicycle via forest paths through the woods on the summit of Kamenice.

Villagescape and history

The first written mention of Bílsko dates from 1349. The Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus was completed in 1903. A stone Empire-style cross with a balustrade dating from 1827 stands on the village square. Another stone cross, dating from 1867, stands west of Bílsko in the direction of the forest. Hanakian architecture can also be seen in Bílsko. Outside Bílsko, on the road to Senička, there is a statue of Saint Francis of Assisi dating from the first half of the 19th century.
