Vělopolí: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Vělopolí is located in Podbeskydí, a hilly foothill landscape. Small agricultural farms are still part of Vělopolí’s agriculturally shaped foothill character; at the same time, the village lies outside the main transport routes. The higher-lying parts of Vělopolí offer views of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids. The Vělopolka stream is a tributary of the Ropičanka, and a protected lime tree in Vělopolí is considered to be 400 years old.

Cycling and hiking trails

The surroundings of Vělopolí invite visitors to go walking and hiking. For cycling, local cycle route No. 6089 between Ropice and Komorní Lhotka is designated in Vělopolí. In addition, long-distance cycle route No. 56 passes through Vělopolí and runs between Smilovice-Střítež and Těrlicko-Horní Bludovice.

History and culture

The first written mention of the Vělopolí estate dates from 1448. The rural farm complex No. 7 dates from 1887. A group of Empire-style sculptures standing in Vělopolí probably dates from the second quarter of the 19th century and originally formed part of the furnishings of the château park in Hnojník.

The Vělopolské slavnosti were held for a second time and have become a permanent part of the life of the municipality and local associations.
