Nova Plan: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Nová Pláň lies between the Slezská Harta Reservoir and Road III/45213. Marked Cycle Route No. 6142 runs through the village.

Activities

Cycle Route No. 6148 begins in Nová Pláň and leads via Liščí díra, Vysoký kámen, Slunečná, Moravský Beroun and Petrovický mlýn to Domašov nad Bystřicí. From Nová Pláň, Cycle Route No. 6142 also leads towards Roudno; the route is signposted there as 22 km. Nová Pláň is the starting point for numerous hiking and cycling routes, including a route to the summit of the former volcano Velký Roudný.

Water and Leisure

Koupaliště Nová Pláň has a larger swimming pool with a slide and a separate smaller children's pool with a depth of 50 cm. A 40 m-long water slide has recently been built on the grounds; the swimming complex also has a beach volleyball court. At the second lakeside bathing pier with a viewing platform in Nová Pláň, there is a parking area and toilets. The local Yachtsport rental station rents cabin sailboats.

History and Culture

The copper works around which Nová Pláň developed was founded in 1640. In the second half of the 17th century, a manufactory for copper goods and copper utensils was established at the Nová Pláň copper works.

The former chapel, now Penzion U Jelena, is one of two monuments of local significance in Nová Pláň. It was designed in the Neo-Gothic style and had a prismatic tower. The school building attached to the former Neo-Gothic chapel was converted into today's Penzion U Jelena in 1990–1991.

During the construction of the Slezská Harta Reservoir, most of Nová Pláň's original buildings were flooded; only the southern part of the settlement survived. After being buried during construction of the reservoir, Nová Pláň's healing mineral spring re-emerged at the same location. Even in earlier times, visitors came to Nová Pláň from the wider surrounding area because of the mineral spring's healing effects.
