Bartošovice combines a striking château, a historically significant church and a diverse floodplain landscape along the Oder River. Between cultural monuments, a nature reserve and an educational trail, the town reveals different, clearly recognisable facets.

Culture

Bartošovice Château is a four-winged building with a small enclosed courtyard. Its interior contains surviving furnishings from the 19th century as well as a library with a marble fireplace. The château also houses the Moravské Kravařsko exhibition, which is divided into four thematic sections.

The Church of St Peter and Paul in Bartošovice, rebuilt in 1583, is also part of the town’s history. Its 35 m-high tower was completed in 1692.

Nature

The Bartošovický luh Nature Reserve encompasses the naturally meandering course of the Oder and the ecosystem of the Upper Bartošovický Pond, including its waterside vegetation. Small bodies of water, wetlands and reed beds are located nearby. The area also includes connected floodplain meadows with water-filled ditches, a wooded terrace with numerous springs and wet woodland areas, as well as an orchard with traditional regional fruit varieties. Bartošovický luh is home to a concentration of specially protected plant and animal species.

At the Poodří House of Nature, an indoor exhibition with information panels provides information about Poodří; visitors can explore the interactive elements freely. Another special feature is the exhibition of live animals at the Bartošovice Rescue Station. It includes more than 30 animal species, particularly birds. A guide is required when visiting this exhibition.

On the Way

The Zámecká educational trail is approximately 5 km long and runs through the cadastral territory of the municipality of Bartošovice. In the field, it is marked with standardised green-and-white markings. The first station is located by the municipal office on the village square in Bartošovice.
