Roztoky U Semil: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Údolím Vošmendy educational trail is a 5.5 km circular route that can be walked in both directions; the centre of Roztoky u Semil can serve as a starting point. The educational trail includes eleven information boards, rest areas, a play feature and interactive elements for children.

Nature and trails

The Údolí Vošmendy Nature Reserve lies in the Vošmenda valley on the western boundary of Roztoky u Semil. Blue- and green-marked hiking trails lead through Roztoky u Semil towards Vysoké nad Jizerou. Cycle route No. 4173 also runs through Roztoky u Semil towards Jesenný.

History and crafts

Roztoky u Semil was first mentioned in written records between 1356 and 1360. Iron ore was once mined there. Traditional home-based occupations in Roztoky u Semil included weaving, glass cutting and stringing beads; during the First Republic, several glass-cutting workshops were built there.

Historic sites

The historic Roztocký mlýn watermill was established in 1656 and features authentic mill machinery from the 17th to the 19th century. It is located in Fiedlerovo údolí on the Staroveský potok stream. Rychta 1748, a farmstead reconstructed in the traditional style, is also located in Roztoky u Semil; visitors are welcome to view it.
