Trails

An 11 km hiking and cycling tour leads via Jablonec nad Jizerou, Končiny, Mount Stráž and Zimní strana back to Jablonec nad Jizerou. The marked ascent to Končiny leads from Jablonec nad Jizerou along the red hiking trail for approximately 2 km uphill. The trail to the viewpoint on Stráž and back is just under 2 km long.

Landscape

Stráž is a rocky spur at an altitude of 778 metres above sea level. In favourable weather, Stráž offers views of the Jizera Mountains, Paseky, Rokytnice nad Jizerou, Lysá hora (1,344 m), Kotel (1,455 m) and Zlaté návrší (1,411 m).

The Hlídka na Stráži viewpoint area comprises simple structures made of wood and steel. Hlídka na Stráži consists of four viewpoints symbolising the four cartridges from the coat of arms of Rokytnice. The viewpoints on Stráž are part of a forest park with shaded seating.

Culture

The mountain hotel Stráž is located on the route approximately 1 km after the trail junction. The Stráž mountain hotel was built in 1933 by Vinohradský Sokol. There is also a wayside crucifix in Končiny.

The archaeological site “Horní Rokytnice, Dolní Rokytnice and Končiny” belongs to category ÚAN I.
