Kruh: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Kruh is a foothill municipality with scattered development. Its elongated settlement structure is oriented along the Kružský potok and the Class III road between Roztoky u Jilemnice, Kruh and Mříčná. The village lies at an elevation of 410 to 480 metres in a very elongated and relatively enclosed area with nearby visual and terrain horizons. The named mountains Strážník, Tábor, Přední Žalý and Zadní Žalý are located around Kruh.

Culture and Architectural History

Kruh Cinema has existed since 1924 and was then part of the cinema system of the First Republic. It is considered a small village cinema and a rare surviving institution against the background of the decline of rural cinemas. After digitisation in December 2016, Kruh Cinema received a larger screen and a 7.1 sound system; the cinema auditorium is also heated.

The traditional Adventní podvečer has been held regularly in Kruh since 2007, at the end of November, and includes, among other things, exhibitions of nativity scenes and old baking moulds. The Tvrziště u čp. 67 archaeological site in Kruh is located on a triangular spur above Kružský potok and comprises two masonry buildings.

Tuláčkův statek is an impressive timber farmstead with a Baroque gable that was formerly the residence of a factor. Statek čp. 1 is an example of late Baroque folk architecture in the Podkrkonoší region, with a typical log construction and decorated gables.

Koupaliště Kruh is located in the centre of Kruh u Jilemnice and has an artificial pool filled with drinking water. Koupaliště Kruh includes a snack bar, toilets, changing rooms, a children's playground and a volleyball court.
