Hlavice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

At the highest point of Hlavice stands the present-day large Church of St. Linhart, built between 1748 and 1759. The Baroque pilgrimage complex in Hlavice comprises the Church of St. Linhart, a rectory, a granary, and a statue of Saint Linhart.

Pilgrimage and Architectural Heritage

The processions held after the livestock epidemic of 1747 laid the foundation for pilgrimages in Hlavice. Near the Church of St. Linhart stands a Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk.

The pilgrimage site of Kristiánka in Lesnovek includes a statue of the Virgin Mary with the Infant Jesus dating from 1845. Until the 1920s, processions went to this pilgrimage site every year; today, no pilgrims go there anymore. The pilgrimage tradition in Hlavice continues with a large pilgrimage at the end of August.

Landscape

Hlavice is bordered to the southeast and west by the deep, picturesque valleys of the Malá Mohelka and Zábrdka rivers. The central part of the area consists of treeless high plateaus with meadows and fields, intersected by smaller valleys.

Ještěd, Velká Buková, Malá Buková, and Lysá are mountains in the vicinity of Hlavice. From Hlavice, there are expansive views of the Ještěd Ridge, Český ráj, and Bezděz.

The Kristiánka spring near Lesnovek has now completely dried up; its water is fed into a borehole for the regional water supply. In the past, the water of the Kristiánka spring in Lesnovek was considered to have healing properties.

Routes and Surroundings

A blue-marked hiking trail runs through Hlavice between Hrubý Lesnov and Vrtky on the Liberec–Čertova zeď–Mnichovo Hradiště route. The T 3048 cycle route runs through Hlavice between Vrtky and Cetenov and continues towards Na Pince, connecting to Route T 25.

The Chapel of the Holy Trinity, a church, is located in the vicinity of Hlavice. In the wider regional surroundings of Hlavice are Starý Berštejn, a ruin, and Valdštejn, a church.
