Černousy: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Černousy is where history and protected nature meet.

History and Culture

Count Filip Josef Clam-Gallas had Zámecký dvůr Černousy built in 1793, presumably on the site of an older similar structure, as the administrative seat for the northern part of the Frýdlant estate. The complex has been an immovable cultural monument since 1958. One of the two granaries was converted into a covered riding arena, while a multifunctional hall was created in the second granary; it was declared the Liberec Region’s Monument of the Year in 2015.

The late Gothic Church of Saint Lawrence stands in Ves (Černousy). In the wider regional surroundings of Černousy are the ruins of the Hagenwerder power station, Czocha Castle - Zamek XIVw., and Gryf Castle. The historic ruin of the Former Lauban Railway Substation is also located in the wider regional surroundings.

Nature and Landscape

With an area of 12 hectares, Dubový rybník in Černousy is one of the largest and oldest ponds in the Frýdlantsko region; it is accessible at any time and free of charge. Exceptionally impressive specimens of pedunculate and red oak grow on the dam of Dubový rybník.

The Meandry Smědé protected area preserves a section of river with a natural riverbed, developing meanders, and oxbow lakes. It also preserves forest, aquatic, wetland, and floodplain ecosystems with near-natural communities, as well as numerous legally protected plant and animal species.

The Bába mountain is located in the immediate vicinity of Černousy. The Hřebenáč, Kančí vrch, and Špičák mountains are also located around Černousy.

A railway runs through Černousy; there is also a railway stop and a bus stop there.
