Rynoltice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Rynoltice combines the Baroque Church of St. Barbara with marked hiking trails and natural sites where sandstone formations and karst features shape the landscape.

Culture and History

The chapel built in Rynoltice in 1669 was converted into the Baroque Church of St. Barbara between 1745 and 1748. The Church of St. Barbara has an organ with 16 stops.

Hiking Trails

Five marked hiking trails run through the municipality of Rynoltice. The green hiking trail 1 begins at Rynoltice railway station and runs together with cycle route 25 to Jítrava. The blue hiking trail passes through the Polesí district of Rynoltice and goes past the Havran rock formation.

The “Along the Elephant Ridges” hike begins in Rynoltice on a road signposted CT 25. From the Sloní Kameny, a red-marked trail leads to Jítrava; a green-marked hiking trail then leads back to Rynoltice.

Nature and Geology

The Velký Vápenný Nature Reserve protects original maple-beech forests at the summit and flower-rich beech forests on Devonian limestone. It includes a former quarry and karst features such as underground chambers, ponors and a spring.

Bílé Kameny is a protected natural monument within the Lužické hory Protected Landscape Area. Weathering has shaped the sandstone at Bílé Kameny into rounded, mushroom-shaped and almost spherical forms. There are several pseudokarst cavities and small caves there, formed by weathering and the erosion of coarse-grained sandstone layers.

Routes and Connections

A shared path for pedestrians and cyclists was built in Rynoltice in the direction of the cemetery. The section in Rynoltice is the first stage of a planned cycle route intended to connect Rynoltice with Jablonné v Podještědí. Rynoltice has bus and train connections with other towns and municipalities.
