Nature and Location

Part of Zdislava lies within the Ještěd Nature Park. To the north of Zdislava, the Velký Vápenný limestone mountain rises to 789 metres, while the Špičák rises to 686 metres east of the village.

Church and Cultural Monuments

The Church of St. John the Baptist has a unique painted wooden ceiling. The church, together with its surrounding wall, chapel and gate, is designated as a cultural monument. Concerts have been held there since 1997.

The designated historic area also includes several individual monuments. On a lawn at an intersection in northeastern Zdislava stands a Marian column with a depiction of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Near the municipal office, a Baroque column with a statue of the Virgin Mary is designated as a cultural monument. Opposite the church, a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk is designated as a cultural monument. A column shrine decorated with reliefs and an expiation cross in Zdislava are also designated as cultural monuments.

History and Crafts

The Zdislava archaeological site is designated as a UAN-I area comprising the late medieval and modern village settlement with its church. At the end of the 18th century, the U Obrázku forest chapel was a Marian pilgrimage site in Zdislava.

The family-run Papyrea manufactory in Zdislava produces handmade paper and also offers letterpress printing and bookbinding. Guided tours and workshops are available by arrangement.

Railway and Cycle Paths

Zdislava is located on a railway station along the Liberec–Teplice line. Before the railway crossing, Cycle Route No. 3046 branches off westwards towards Janovice v Podještědí. The marked long-distance Cycle Route No. 25 also runs through Zdislava’s cadastral area.
