The heritage protection zone of Sychrov Château, designated in 1977, runs through the area of Paceřice; it also extends to part of the Husa settlement.

In summer, the fire reservoir in Paceřice becomes a welcome place for cooling off and playing in the water.

Culture and History

A number of traditional 19th-century log houses have survived in Paceřice to this day. The long, two-storey buildings have gabled roofs; barns and farm buildings adjoin their ground floors.

Villa Fialka, house number 17, stands in Husa. It was originally the home of Vojtěch Mašek, the gardener at Sychrov Château. The Bušek family later lived in the villa; its members included the writer and translator Karel Bušek, who published under the pseudonym Bohdan Kaminský.

The U Divoké husy inn is also part of the local history: it gave the Husa settlement its name and was built together with a smithy and several small houses. Petr Bušek, the creator of the wood carvings at the château, worked at the brickworks in the village of Husa from 1856 onwards. There he founded a business that was successfully continued after his death by his sons Dominik and Konstantin.

The powerful springs in Studnice were formerly the most important drinking-water source for all of Paceřice and gave their name to the settlement belonging to the municipality.

Routes and Surroundings

Rohanka is a four-row lime-tree avenue planted in 1850. The “Paceřice, Rohanka” bus stop is located at the end of the avenue, which leads directly towards Sychrov Château.

From the “Paceřice, Rohanka” bus stop, a walk through the lime-tree avenue leads to the rear gate of Sychrov Park. As this gate is closed to the public, the park can be bypassed on the left or via a less frequented path on the right.
