Bílý Kostel Nad Nisou: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
In the center of Bílý Kostel nad Nisou stands a snow-white church. A blue-marked hiking trail also runs through the village, continuing via Panenská Hůrka to the Minimuzeum másla a chleba and on to Chrastava.
Culture and History
The Church of St. Nicholas in Bílý Kostel nad Nisou was built between 1679 and 1691 and remodeled and extended between 1749 and 1754. The surrounding walls contain clay niches with reliefs of the Stations of the Cross.
The ruins of Roimund Castle preserve the remains of the castle core, a ditch with a double rampart that is visible in the terrain, and a sunken cistern.
Cycling
The St. Zdislava Cycle Route runs through Bílý Kostel nad Nisou and is connected to the Odra–Nisa Cycle Route. International Cycle Route No. 14, Odra–Nisa, passes through the village on the section between Chrastava and Hrádek nad Nisou (Kristýna).
Landscape and Nature
Panenská Hůrka is home to several preserved half-timbered buildings and a chapel. In the mining area around Panenská Hůrka, spoil heaps, partially backfilled shafts, and exploration pits are visible.
The adits around Panenská Hůrka are important wintering sites for bats.
Tradition
The Minimuzeum másla a chleba u Hyšků in Bílý Kostel nad Nisou was founded in 2003 and contains around 150 exhibits on traditional butter production, including butter churns, centrifuges, butter molds, butter pots, milk cans, and measuring vessels.
