The railway museum of the Spolek Frýdlantské okresní dráhy is located in a former locomotive shed in Frýdlant. It preserves exhibits and documents relating to the history of the local railways and displays photographs, documents and artefacts on the history of the FOD lines, as well as the historic narrow-gauge diesel locomotive T 36.002.

The Stations of the Cross in Frýdlant was established in 1737 and renovated in 2017. It comprises fourteen stations, a Holy Sepulchre, a spring and a hermitage.

The town museum is located on the second floor of Frýdlant Town Hall. It displays guild chests and historic furnishings documenting the region’s craft and civic traditions. One of the oldest buildings in Frýdlant is also home to a moving Christmas nativity scene. It was created by Gustav Simon, who came from Frýdlant; its mechanism moves more than 100 human and animal figures.

The corner tower of Frýdlant Town Hall is 48 metres high. Its open gallery at a height of 27 metres offers panoramic views over the town, the castle and the Jizera Mountains.

Getting Around

The signposted Sluneční cesty circular trail is used to explore Frýdlant and is connected to the international Intercontinental Sun Trail (Sun Trail Intercontinental). A paid car park is located 50 metres from the entrance to Frýdlant Castle and Castle Complex.

The wider region around Frýdlant is home to the mountains Kančí vrch, Bába, Ostrý and Ptači vrchy. Also located there are Czocha Castle - Zamek XIVw., Gryf Castle, the ruins of the Hagenwerder power station and the historic ruins of the “Former Lauban Railway Substation”.
