Kunratice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Kunratice combines historic ecclesiastical buildings with marked trails, a water reservoir, and its own events.
Culture and History
The Church of All Saints in Kunratice is documented as early as 1377, when a parish priest was mentioned there. It was originally Gothic, was redesigned in the Baroque style at the end of the 18th century, and altered again in 1879. The church stands on a low hill on the northeastern edge of Kunratice, at the highest point of the settlement, and is surrounded by a walled cemetery.
The Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows in the fields east of Kunratice near Tongrund has a distinct historical development. It was established in 1847 by converting a gunpowder storehouse built by French troops in 1742. After 1900, the chapel was redesigned by the Benedictines of Emmaus in the Beuron art style.
The Tongrund Monument stands on the right-hand side of road III/03511 in the direction of Frýdlant, just before the Tongrund Pond, which is also called Totex. A memorial ceremony is held at the monument every year, commemorating not only those who fell in this war conflict.
Trails and Water
The green-marked KČT hiking trail from Frýdlant to Arnoltice passes through Kunratice. Visitors can discover Kunratice’s lesser-known sights on foot or on bicycle trips.
Kunratice is also home to a water reservoir that is used as a natural outdoor swimming pool.
