Blíževedly: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Blíževedly was granted town status in 1290; this was also the first surviving historical mention. The Baroque Church of St. Wenceslas has a ribbed vault from an original chapel dating from the 14th century.
History and Architectural Heritage
The southern part of the square is home to the Baroque Trinity Column dating from 1714. Blíževedly also has preserved log and half-timbered houses from the 18th and 19th centuries. The Hospodářský dvůr probably has Renaissance origins and underwent significant structural development during the Baroque period in the 17th and 18th centuries.
Hřídelník, in the vicinity of Blíževedly, formerly served, among other things, as a prison. A perimeter wall and palace walls have been preserved there; the palace walls are accessible via an impressive underground passage. In the vicinity of Blíževedly, the remains of cellars have also been preserved at Ronov.
Hiking and Nature
A hiking route across Vlhošť passed through a biotope of flower-rich beech forests. A hike across Vlhošť led as far as Blíževedly. At the end of the hike to Blíževedly, the rarer plant Sedmikvítek evropský could be observed. A hike in the context of Kokořínsko–Máchův kraj also led as far as Blíževedly.
Railway Station
Blíževedly railway station is located on line 087 between Litoměřice horní nádraží and Česká Lípa. It received the title “Most Beautiful Railway Station”.
