Culture and History

The Chapel of Saint Anthony of Padua is a historicist, longitudinal, single-nave sacred building oriented north–south, with a prismatic tower on the south side. In the Minkovice district of the municipality of Šimonovice, the chapel was consecrated on 3 April 2016 and dedicated to the Divine Mercy.

Events

ŠIMIFEST is a traditional music festival of the municipality of Šimonovice. At ŠIMIFEST 2026 on 22 August 2026, there will be live music by regional bands, tastings of regional beers, and sweet and savoury refreshments.

History

The Rašovka lookout tower is the first privately built brick lookout tower in the modern history of the Czech Republic. It has stood since 2006 on the edge of the Rašovka settlement on the Ještěd Ridge; Rašovka is a district of the municipality of Šimonovice. The tower is 22.5 metres high. The Rašovka lookout tower and the adjacent restaurant were opened on 10 June 2006 on the occasion of the Svatoantonínská pilgrimage.
