Mining was already being carried out in Tři Sekery in 1538; since 1607, the village had the right to free mining. Copper, lead, silver, and cobalt ores were mined over a long period in the mining district in the area of Tři Sekery.
Culture
The furnishings of the Church of the Fourteen Holy Helpers in Times of Need in Tři Sekery were brought from the dissolved Paulaner monastery in Světce near Tachov. The church in Tři Sekery is a venue for frequent cultural gatherings.
The Bouda Mini-Museum displays an exhibition of wooden beads and small objects from the municipality of Tři Sekery. The mini-museum is open by prior arrangement with the mayor.
The Iron Curtain Museum is located in Slatina in the former border guard barracks; the former border guard complex acquired by the municipality of Tři Sekery houses it on the ground floor.
Cycling
Regional Cycle Route No. 2068 is 11 km long, easy, and suitable for touring bicycles. It runs mainly along paved roads, reaches Tři Sekery at kilometre 9.0, and then continues into the town centre. At kilometre 3.9, Regional Cycle Route No. 2069 passes through Tři Sekery.
